The Christmas Story

The true Christmas story is a great way to enlighten your friends and family during the holiday season. You can create great holiday memories for everyone by making a small effort to include this Christmas story ritual each year. Even if you are not totally familiar with all the specifics, just relying on the basic fundamentals of the true Christmas story will be satisfactory.

Although there is many versions about how the Christmas story began and the rituals that are included within, taking a look at the spirituality of the holiday season will help direct you and take a different outlook on the true Christmas story for you and your family. Having illustrated books around to follow along together is an activity your family will surely cherish. Many families will search out their religious ties during this festive season and reliving the ancient Christmas story helps define that part of their lives.

If you refer to the Holy Bible for the Christmas story, the two books Luke and Matthew will describe the birth of Jesus Christ. Jesus who was conceived by the Virgin Mary and born to her and her husband Joseph. This is a great resource to start if you are unsure of the exact details of the original Christmas story.

In the Christmas story, during the time of Jesus' birth, Joseph and Mary were traveling to the town of David to be registered as an instruction by Augustus Caesar under the Roman ruling. There were many people traveling at that time and hence there was no more room at the inn for them even though it was time for the birth of Jesus Christ.

Joseph and Mary were able to rest in a stable of a Bethlehem inn in order to give birth to their first son. This Christmas story is amazing in itself since a young, unmarried woman traveling across the land, had her first child in a stable on her own with only Joseph and the animals residing within around her. I have had three children of my own and cannot imagine birthing any of them without medical resources, alone and outside with only my fiance to guide me.

In the Christmas story, once Jesus was born, they bundled him in swaddling clothes and laid him in a manger of straw to keep warm. During this time in the true Christmas story, a Lord's angel shone upon the shepherds in the fields, declaring the good news of the savior's birth in the town of Bethlehem. These shepherds were moved to see the newborn babe and realized that everything the Lord's angel told them was true.

The inspiring Christmas story tells of three wise men from the east who saw the shining star above where Jesus resided and came to Bethlehem searching for him, bearing gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh. In the true Christmas story, these gifts signified royalty and divinity. These were presented to him as a gesture of Jesus being the King of Kings.

Utilizing as many resources as possible for retelling the unique Christmas story will add closeness to your festive celebrations. The Christmas season is a time for enjoying others company and the Christmas story is the very reason for that, just as much a part of that as the turkey on your table.

Merry Christmas!
