Christmas Cards
Sadly, Christmas cards are finding their way out of the Christmas season more and more each year with the increased use of computers and technology. This sincere gesture should not be phased out with the coming of a new age and should be preserved for all to enjoy for years to come. Christmas cards are a great way to keep in touch with loved ones even if it is only for one season a year.
For the many people that still send Christmas cards to friends and family, I applaud you. I make a strong effort to have all of my Christmas cards finished and mailed by December 1st each year so that they will make their way to each person in plenty of time for the holiday season. I specifically have the recipients in mind when I choose Christmas cards before they go into the mail. The Christmas cards I send are a reflection of me, as well as whom I feel should inherit them.
When buying Christmas cards, it is a reputable gesture to take into account more than one lifestyle or religious choice in your receivers. Not all of your Christmas card list members will belong to the same church group as you or have the same lifestyle choices as your family. One has to be diplomatic in sending greetings with Christmas cards so as not to alienate anyone from this by giving Christmas cards that are not appropriate for them.
If you have chosen to purchase your Christmas cards, it is charming to have everyone in the household sign the Christmas cards instead of appointing the head of the household sign on their behalf. This shows your friends and family that each person in your family has taking time out of their day to address a Christmas card to them personally with care. Christmas cards are about keeping in touch with loved ones and should be handled by your loved ones as well.
If you have chosen to make your own Christmas cards you have a world of possibilities ahead of you. Homemade Christmas cards can be as simplistic or as detailed as you make them out to be. One year I used my children's handprints in paint as decorations for the front and insides of our homemade Christmas cards and had each child sign their handprint. It is joyous to see how big the children in the family grow by their little hands each year in your mailbox.
Photo Christmas cards are another option to homemade cards. They will show off your family and give cheerful holiday greetings all in one small package. Photo Christmas cards can either be purchased at a professional photo studio, or made at home by pasting a family photo onto cardboard or stock paper and decorating it with your own holiday message.
Whichever option you choose for your Christmas cards, be sure to make them individual and unique to your own taste. Christmas cards will be enjoyed for what they say about you as a person and it is important to make sure they have your signature personality attached to them.
